International Children's Games | Hamilton

Daegu, Korea

by ICG Hamilton on July 18, 2012

Local Hamilton athletes returned this past week after winning the consolation round in girl’s volleyball in Dageau, South Korea. Dageau hosted over 40 countries from 5 continents at this year’s event. Hamilton athletes competed against other Canadian cities as well as teams from the USA, Poland, Israel, Switzerland, Russia and of course teams from the host country Korea. Unfortunately Hamilton was grouped in the third pool which included the eventual gold and silver medal teams, Los Angeles and Dageau who were the only teams who defeated Team Hamilton in the first 2 matches of the competition. Hamilton then when undefeated beating teams from Israel and Switzerland. ICG Hamilton anticipates a large delegation to attend next years games back in Windsor Canada. Next years games promises to be 1 of the largest with additional teams from North and South America. Next year’s games will also include a capital legacy as the city of Windsor is building a new state of the art aquatic complex with both a competitive 50 meter pool and recreational leisure pool.

Message of greeting from the President of
